What is the Evacuation assistance cover option? How it works 1. In emergencies, the member (or a nominated representative such as a relative or work colleague), should telephone or fax. These numbers are also listed on the back of the membership card. 2. The phone will be answered by multi-lingual medically trained staff who will need the following information: * membership number (found on the front of the card) * Member's name * nature of illness * exact location * contact details - telephone & fax 3. Our evacuation partner in conjunction with local medical opinion, then establishes whether evacuation is necessary and makes the appropriate arrangements using their worldwide knowledge of medical facilities to assess whether adequate treatment can be located nearby. Please note we will only pay evacuation costs for day-case and in-patient treatment.
